I believe there is a name for this phenomenon...

Operation Rest of the Brown Ones

But all jest aside, this is truly depressing.

That George!

What did they think? (I know, I know, they didn't think). But seriously, the moment Sadam's government--the ones Rummy et al had been loving on in the not-so-distant past--was toppled, what remained were several very different groups of people, all wanting to kill each other in order to rule over the others. You won't read the phrase "civil war" too often in the States, but browse around some of the foreign news bureaus and it's painfully obvious that is what's going on in Iraq.

Hell, if anyone in the WH had bothered to read a fucking history book, perhaps there would have been a clue unearthed somewhere, one they could divvy up with a pocketknife and share among themselves, instilling a good deal more enlightenment in each of their sorry heads than exists there now.

*sigh*

No wonder the new "government" can't fill cabinet posts for ministers of defense, interior, and national security. No one trusts the police or army to be controlled by someone in the other faction.

If only Gore's crack about, "Baseball Commissioner G.W. Bush," were true...

I'm just still sick from the newly released pics of blown up people and kids w/out limbs.

I hate the shrub.

This is happening, on w's watch???

At least they're fighting each other there, so they don't have to fight each other here.

Damn those Iraqi intelligensia! I mean, didn't they get the memo? We started this whole war to liberate them, and now they flee off to the four winds (one of which, no doubt, leads to France?)

Ungrateful bastards.

Saw Bagdhad ER last night on HBO -- toward the end of the film, a soldier who'd been hit by a piece of shrapnel died. The Chaplain, while praying for the young man, referred to this senseless war.

The war is part of the administration's plans: Project for a New American Century. In some papers, they said that toppling Iraq was the keystone in the Middle East. Ethnic cleansing is part of the plan. It's Imperalism, at its worst.

No wonder I wake up nauseated.
