Weekend Wingnut Roundup

Wingnut_roundup_4_1_1_2

Another week, another load of wingnuts:

Ace of Spades - bin Ladin might have died of typhoid fever ... so that's why Bush hasn't been looking for him!  Our Leader is a genius!
All Things Beautiful
- Cyrus Nowrasteh, the guy who wrote The Path to 9/11, says he's not a conservative activist but rather a simple country scriptwriter - who am I to argue?
American Thinker
- Hugo Chavez shouldn't bother to buy nukes unless he's going to use 'em.
Atlas Shrugs
- Muslims would never have known about the Pope's speech if the fucking BBC hadn't reported it ... who do they think they are - reporters?
Blue Crab Boulevard
- Hugo Chavez makes average Americans like myself vewy vewy angwy.
Captain's Quarters
- I might be only person on the planet who didn't know Citgo was owned by the Venezuelan government ... looks like it's Sunoco from now on!
Debbie Schlussel
- this week I'm freaking out about exploding terrorist-driven semis.
Flopping Aces
- sleep deprivation is so not torture!
GOP Bloggers
- let's rearrange some deck chairs on the HMS George W. Bush.  Iceberg?  What iceberg?
Hot Air (Allahpundit)
- Jimmy Carter certified Hugo Chavez's landslide victory two years ago so we blame him for all that U.N. crap - why didn't he just steal the election for the loser, like we do here?
Hugh Hewitt
- don't you think NPR stations should be turned over to religious broadcasters?  I certainly do.
Instapundit - if the press hadn't been criticizing Bush then Chavez wouldn't have either, so the MSM should continue to give Bush the usual free pass.
Little Green Footballs - Charles Krauthammer says their fundies can't take a joke but our fundies are just a bunch of fun-loving guys - who are we to argue?
Macsmind - we had to go into Iraq because we had to make this kind of Roach Motel so all the terrorist roaches would come out where we could see them and spray them and ... no, seriously!  Why won't anybody take me seriously!?
Michelle Malkin - that AP photographer the military's been holding for five months without charge?  Verdict first, tribunal afterwards.
NRO (Byron York) - the 9/11 attacks were Clinton's fault because he asked the military to kill Osama bin Ladin instead of going out there and killing him himself.
NRO (Jonah Goldberg) - as usual I have nothing useful to add, so let me take this opportunity to say how depressed I am about the prospects for conservatism and Republicans - we are really fucked.
NRO (K-Lo) - as usual I have nothing useful to add, so I'll just take a shot at Bill Clinton by comparing his behavior on Fox News to Tom Cruise's couch jumping.
Patterico's Pontifications - once again I have used my superior conservative brain to predict that Bush would be given the green light to waterboard anybody he wants.  I just fucking rock.
Powerline - there is so a "terrorist rights" wing of the Republican party, 'cause we say there is!  Nyah.
Sister Toldjah - can you believe Bill Clinton criticized right wingers?  What have we ever done to him?
The Real Ugly American - Bush didn't lie, he just passed on some bad information that someone else gave him.  C'mon, he's a busy guy - he doesn't have time to check everything before he starts a war!
Townhall (K-Ham) - why would anybody take note of the fact that the number of Iraq War dead now equals the number that died on 9/11?  Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 and ... oh shit.
Townhall (Dean Barnett) - why would a Democrat have a nuanced view regarding Hugo Chavez instead of just denouncing him?  I say it's a severe case of Bush Derangement Syndrome™.

Bin Laden might be dead; of course that's why Bush isn't looking for him - well. That explains why the TSA took my lipgloss from me on Thursday when I flew. Someone needs to wear it for Bin Laden's funeral.

I was just enjoying the utter idiocy at Flopping Aces. I'd like to see those asshats withstand some torture. Maybe then they'd shut their damn pie holes.

Probably not though.

My favorite part of the weekend has become checking out the people who have traded their ideals for blind support of Dear Leader. It's better than watching the Lions lose (again).

Bush didn't lie, he just passed on some bad information that someone else gave him. C'mon, he's a busy guy - he doesn't have time to check everything before he starts a war!

Except that the WMDs were not the reason for going to war, and the Democrats have gone on record that they would still vote for the war even with the information that we have now. Further, the British intelligence has been checked, and your hero Joe Wilson has been proven to be the liar about Hussein's attempts to purchase uranium.

Thank goodness that we have "wingnuts" to keep the "looney left" from putting us at peril.

Yeah, you go Woody. I feel better knowing you are bolstering this nation's resolve. How come you aren't in Iraq?

Except that the WMDs were not the reason for going to war ...

Q: Weapons of mass destruction haven't been found. So what argument will you use now to justify this war?

Bush, May 29, 2003: We found the weapons of mass destruction. We found biological laboratories. You remember when Colin Powell stood up in front of the world, and he said, Iraq has got laboratories, mobile labs to build biological weapons. They're illegal. They're against the United Nations resolutions, and we've so far discovered two. And we'll find more weapons as time goes on. But for those who say we haven't found the banned manufacturing devices or banned weapons, they're wrong, we found them. (May 23, 2003--a month afte he declared victory.)

And remember Woody - we have always been at war with Eastasia. Moron.

Typical Left. Respond to a fact provided by asking why I'm not in Iraq and by calling me a moron. Good arguments. Maybe no one should have a say in anything unless they have something invested--which leaves out 80% of the Democrats when it comes to taxes.

There's nothing to be gained by arguing why we are at war in the mideast, because the Left puts truth and security behind its only goal of political power--as you would.

It's clear that there is nothing a rogue dictator or nation can do that the Left thinks is worth standing against. Maybe twelve years of sanctions and appeasement will be enough for Iran's nuclear program to produce atomic weapons. Then what?

And, you wonder why the American voters continue to reject the best the Democrats have to offer against clearly not the best that the Republicans have.

"It's clear that there is nothing a rogue dictator or nation can do that the Left thinks is worth standing against."

Not true, Woody, I'm taking a stand against Bush.

P.S. WMDs WERE the reason for invading Iraq, better go brush up on recent history. Then again, after none were found, I believe the reason changed to forcing democracy on them or somesuch... or that Hussein was guilty of murdering his people... shoot, why don't we invade Darfur then? Hmmmm? Help those people out, right, Woody? But wait! Darfur doesn't have any oil, so let 'em die!

Wow, Freude, my eyes are bleeding just from reading the Round Up!

What eye drops do you use? I have to buy stock...

Further, the British intelligence has been checked, and your hero Joe Wilson has been proven to be the liar about Hussein's attempts to purchase uranium.

Oh...so he did try to buy some? And where, pray tell, did you hear that recently?

No wait. Let me guess...Newsmax?

Go git some learning, son, yer ignerness is annoying us.

Quote: "No WMDs here...what about under mah desk?"

Meanwhile, 3,000 American dead soldiers lay in graves, testament to the lies and deceits of your President, son.

Grow up. Quickly, please.

Typical Left. Respond to a fact provided by asking why I'm not in Iraq and by calling me a moron.

You know Woody, if you had typed your talking points into the comments a year ago, I'd merely have dismissed you as ignorant. Now, in 2006, you have to be a moron to think that: 1) the war wasn't sold on WMD and Saddam's ability to make that ol' mushroom cloud (cf. Bush, Rice) and 2) that the WMD claims were complete and utter crap. Woody, you self-identified as a moron. You've drunk the Kool Ade.

Read Frank Rich's book - the "administration" sold the war by linking Saddam with Atta (nope, never happened, and Bush has at last admitted it) and claiming Saddam was coming to get us (emphasizing the nuclear aspect). Face it dude, you are as wrong as you can be. Now head to Iraq and serve the Dear Leader if you believe in nation building so fervently.

I have GOT to stop clicking on the links to see if the wingnuttery matches the summation. It does, indeed, and that makes my head hurt. (And isn't it funny the number of right-wing blogs that either don't allow comments or require registration to comment...)

And if WMDs weren't a motivation to invade/occupy Iraq, there's a hell of a lot of talk I remember about anthrax and aluminum tubes and yellowcake uranium and 45 minutes and pilotless drones and botulinin toxin and nerve gas and stuff that, well, I guess I didn't hear after all. I realize your average American has a memory that's good for about a week, but it's a real insult to those of us who can remember further back to tell us we didn't hear/read/see what we did.

Isn't it amazing how much Glenn Reynolds can say with just ten words? Bless you Blogenfreude for reading this crap so I don't have to.
