The Gales of Blowvember

Cocktober sucked. To be more precise, there was no sign of the sucking, fucking, wetsuit-wearing, blowjob-inflicting, and kid-touching we’ve come to expect from the party of Bob Allen, Gary Aldridge, and Mark Foley.  But the logjam may be breaking:

CARLISLE, Pa. - A former central Pennsylvania county commissioner was accused Thursday of secretly videotaping men having sex in his home and using computer software to spy on another man.

Cumberland County Commissioner Bruce K. Barclay used hidden cameras scattered throughout his home to make 176 recordings of 13 different men naked or engaged in sex, the state attorney general’s office said.

Prosecutors charged Barclay, 49, with hiring a prostitute, a computer offense, unlawful duplication and 13 counts of invasion of privacy. He also was charged with a single count of illegal interception, disclosure or use of wire, electronic or oral communications.

My Tax Dollars At Work

Turns out that New York City tax dollars weren't just paying for Rudy's security detail when he went out to the Hamptons to fuck then-girlfriend Judi Nathan.  Ms. Nathan had her own security detail, also on our dime:

Well before it was publicly known he was seeing her, then-married New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani provided a police driver and city car for his mistress Judith Nathan, former senior city officials tell the Blotter on ABCNews.com.

"She used the PD as her personal taxi service," said one former city official who worked for Giuliani.

Not only that, we were also paying for his wife's security detail. 

Ah Rudy - remember the good old days, when everyone thought you were honest?

Trent quit to go make lots of lobbying cash before the rules change.  No, Trent quit because Larry Flynt was about to out him.  No wait, Trent's alleged toy boy says it's not so.  But his denial is interpreted as a non-denial by some.  And now there's a claim that Larry Flynt has confirmed his involvement in Trent's resignation. 

Who to believe?

Thou Shalt Not Covet ...

It seemed too long since we've had a fundie sex scandal, but now we have this:

Sex Scandal Hits Atlanta-Area Megachurch

DECATUR, Ga. (AP) -- The 80-year-old leader of a suburban Atlanta megachurch is at the center of a sex scandal of biblical dimensions: He slept with his brother's wife and fathered a child by her.

Members of Archbishop Earl Paulk's family stood at the pulpit of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit at Chapel Hill Harvester Church a few Sundays ago and revealed the secret exposed by a recent court-ordered paternity test.

In truth, this is not the first - or even the second - sex scandal to engulf Paulk and the independent, charismatic church. But this time, he could be in trouble with the law for lying under oath about the affair.

The living proof of that lie is 34-year-old D.E. Paulk, who for years was known publicly as Earl Paulk's nephew.

No wetsuits or foot tapping, but it's still got that certain something.

Taking the Fifth?

Poor David Vitter.  Every time it seems like his troubles are behind him, something new from his past pops up:

WASHINGTON (AP) — When questioned about his links to a Washington escort service, Sen. David Vitter has chosen his words carefully. He apologized for a "very serious sin in my past," but said the details were best left between God and his family.

Now, the woman accused of running a high-end prostitution ring wants the Louisiana Republican to dish the salacious details in court.

A lawyer for indicted escort Deborah Palfrey has subpoenaed the first-term senator to testify at a hearing this month. Attorney Montgomery Blair Sibley said he'll ask Vitter pointedly, "As a client, did you engage in illegal sex acts?"

In a city where the preferred method of apologizing is a prepared statement and where follow-up questions are often ducked, Sibley is promising to force some answers. Unlike Vitter's news conference on the matter, at which he took no questions, the witness box can be an unscripted, on-the-record, under-oath political nightmare.

Palfrey's lawyer expects Vitter to fight the subpoena, probably arguing that he can't add anything new to the mix.  Or maybe he'll take the Fifth, although if the statute of limitations is up that won't work.  Republicans want him to fight because they've been damaged enough by the "Culture of Corruption" they created for themselves.

The hearing is scheduled for November 28th.  Pass the popcorn.

Bob Allen Calls It Quits

Damn:

The saga of Florida’s now ex-state Rep. “Twenty Dollar” Bob Allen has finally come to a satisfying, but bittersweet, close. Yesterday afternoon, Allen was sentenced on a misdemeanor count of solicitation for prostitution (in lay terms: they done punished him for trying to blow that guy in the potty room). Today, Allen resigned from the Florida House of Representatives — effective Feb. 15, 2008, for some reason. A sad day for America, sure, but “Twenty Dollar” Bob leaves us with one final goldmine of makefunnery: the terms of his sentencing.

GOP Hypocrite of the Day

Blowvember goes on and on and on ...

Meet representative Ric Keller (R-FL). According to Evangelical leader James Dobson, Keller was “the obvious choice for those who care about the biblical values upon which our nation was founded.” The only problem, as Harper’s points out, is that Keller has proven to be a “true, unreconstructed, all-American family values hypocrite.” Check out the details of his apparent affair with a 23 year old staffer, his suspect payments to her, his divorce from his ill wife [ed. - his BLIND ill wife], and then his subsequent marriage to that staffer. He's no David Vitter (no hookers, at least that we know of), but he's a serious hypocrite.  And speaking of Vitter, he's been subpoenaed to testify at a hearing in the DC Madame case.  I can't wait.

Sister Blowvember

[via Wonkette] Sure it's hetero and happened in the 60s, and sadly there's no foot tapping, wetsuits, dildos, or farm animals involved, but it still qualifies for Blowvember:

[Sister] Giannini faces up to 20 years in prison for two counts of sexual abuse, and will be sentenced Feb. 1. Not to take something like this too lightly, but hey, it sounds like it was a rollicking good time:

According to a criminal complaint filed by the Milwaukee County district attorney’s office, Sister Giannini repeatedly assaulted the two boys while they were in middle school at St. Patrick School. The complaint said the assaults included intercourse and occurred in numerous locations, including a convent and a classroom.

A 3rd District judge this week scuttled Republican leader Ozwald Balfour’s efforts to disqualify the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office from prosecuting him for allegedly groping, or attempting to grope, four women.
Four sex assault cases filed against Balfour in 2005 were still unresolved last fall when he threw his support - and the free services of his two media consulting companies - to Republican district attorney candidate Lohra Miller.

He is charged with three second-degree felony counts of forcible sexual abuse and one count of attempted forcible sexual abuse, a third-degree felony ....

John Amato also points out that Mr. Balfour campaigned for Orrin Hatch and is on the Executive Committee of the Utah Republican Party.

Vittergate

Forget Domestic Fascism Awareness Week ... there's a new development in Vittergate:

WASHINGTON - Alleged D.C. Madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey wants to force Sen. David Vitter to tell a judge about his experiences with her escort service.

Palfrey has filed court documents seeking to subpoena the Louisiana senator to testify in an upcoming hearing.

As first reported on WTOP, an escort named Paula Neble claims Vitter, R-La., was a customer.

Palfrey is suing Neble, saying she violated a contract by accepting money for sex.

It's only two days into Blowvember, and we've already got all this!  We're going to need another dead preacher in a wetsuit with a dildo up his ass to top today's events. Stay tuned.
