Iran: Countdown to Annihilation

Courtesy of Corrente via Pissed Off Patricia at Blondesense, we have learned that U.S. naval ships are departing for the Persian Gulf. Xan at Corrente provides some stunning evidence and ask us to connect the dots. Go ahead if you dare . . .

The military is right on schedule. Both Seymour Hersh and Scott Ritter have predicted a June 2005 attack on Iran based on their multiple insider sources. It's all happening according to plan. We've already witnessed the media propaganda about Iran's nuclear ambitions and have experienced a steady pro-war rhetoric from the Bush administration during the past six months. Presently the Europeans are unsuccessful in their diplomatic attempts to halt Iranian nuclear development plans. When their attempts are officially deemed to have failed, will the U.S. and Israel step in with a Shock and Awe solution?

Bush's poll numbers are in the tank so the time is ripe for another war. Operation Iranian Destruction will most likely commence with a bombing campaign. However, if we do send in ground troops or small special forces teams they will be forced to confront the dreaded Iranian Chick Ninjas.

So, what are the odds for another war? Any bets?

King Bush cannot be expected to wait indefinitely for another major attack on U.S. soil. He must be very disappointed.

Refuting Hersh & Ritter would require some pretty solid evidence... and I got nuthin'.

Given the profound stupidity of the American people, our sagging U.S. Congress will probably get a poll bounce for sitting around with their thumbs up their asses while Bush slaughters even more brown people. Just another reason to despise the whole lot of 'em.

It just doesn't figure, but then again I don't work at the Pentagon. We are barely getting by in Iraq. Who knows what to believe about Afghanistan, a country no one has ever been able to secure...Opening up a multiple front with Syria and Iran would be a disaster. We don't have the troops, the willpower or the support from other nations.

Please tell me we can't be this stupid.

After wandering over to Chris Floyd's site (bookmark it), he's got me convinced it's not Iran, but Syria, in our sights. Of course, given King Bush's aversion to diplomacy, it could be both.

He won't be happy until he gets to Drop The Big One. Bombing Iran and Syria could be Just The Thing to trigger a geopolitical showdown - and the perfect catalyst for fulfilling his dream of nuclear destruction.

You gotta admit, nothing is too far-fetched for the Bush Machine psychopaths.

This just doesn't make sense to me, although, that shouldn't mean anything with this Administration. First of all, it is true that Bush's numbers are in the toilet, but I have to believe that even in our ignorance-is-bliss culture, another unnecessary war ontop of an increasingly unpopular (and now known to be) unnecessary war would probably have a negative impact on Bush's popularity.

It just doesn't make sense. The only way it makes sense to me, and, incidentally, the way it scares the living shit out of me, is that their goal is to actively instigate chaos in the region. That would explain the lack of planning with the aftermath of the war and the willingness to plan one or two other attacks on different countries.

I will be scared and shocked if this goes down.

I forgot to add that barring any ridiculously damning evidence (which, I presume, doesn't exist), there will be mass uprisings in OUR streets if this goes down.

The only way it will be possible is if there is a major terrorist attack on US soil between now and the end of June, and we blame it on Iran as a justification for a strike.

Also, one last thing. Do you think the marginal success the Europeans achieved yesterday will have any effect on this?

I would think this would be VERY unpopular in the Pentagon at least with the military folks. I don't think they wanted to go to war with Iraq but the civilians in the Pentagon pushed that one.
But I think one reason for war with Iraq was to topple the gov't in Iran....the domino thing. But hasn't happened so maybe they have to prod it on.

Attacking still another country in the Middle East will definitely expedite a full blown civil war in Iraq, not to mention result in a larger regional conflict. Nice excuse for those permanent U.S. bases being constructed in Iraq.

I think Bush perceives a political need for a decisive military victory (or any intensity) and will go to great lengths to fashion one.

The problem here is that Bush has never been held accountable for his actions. Congress is like the doting mother who can't say no to her precious, perfect little child... and we all know how those kids turn out. It's important to remember that bombing people has served George W. Bush well. Bear in mind, thoughout his entire life, he has never paid any kind of price for his transgressions. He has always been insulated from the consequences of his behavior.

As for Europe & Iran, Bush has zero regard for international opinion and won't allow them to dictate the terms of his military adventurism.

I think that characterization of Congress explains the past, especially the post 9/11 era. However, Bush's grip on Congress has been slipping considerably as of late. The one thing we all have to realize is that half of Congress is up for re-election next year, and for many Republicans, they're going to probably have to distance themselves from Bush in ways that they never imagined or planned on doing. Moreover, with many Republican Senators planning on running for President, they'll want to think long and hard before throwing their support to another war that will likely be tied to their party and the Bush Administration--this time, that probably won't be a good thing.

Strike on suspected nuke facilities in Iran and N. Korea by mid-June. Just my call.
.

I'm with grand moff. North Korea is seriously being overlooked here. Troops are moving into the Central Pacific. If they don't go to the Indian Ocean, it's bombs away for North Korea. And that will definitely get a reaction from a sleeping giant known as China.

Does anyone believe the current lockdown underway in Baghdad (not going so well as of 1:51 pm cst) is related to a possible attack on Iran or Syria?
