Endangered Species
I've found the only living Republican who hasn't shed an ounce of integrity. His name is Paul Craig Roberts:
The Iraqi war has three beneficiaries: (1) al Qaeda, (2) Iran and (3) US war industries and Bush-Cheney cronies who receive no-bid contracts. Everyone else is a loser.
Amen brother.
Who exactly is Paul Craig Roberts? He was only Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Reagan administration. I wonder if economists are more impervious to bullshit since they are rational thinkers and are not strictly politicians. Remember Paul O'Neill? He was fired because he valued a little thing we like to call reality.
UPDATE: I found the perfect picture to accompany this post via Daily Pepper and Scrutiny Hooligans. Yeah, it's real.

Roberts has been a critic of BushCo from the start. You also might want to look into Clyde Prestowitz, another old Reaganite who took a carpet beater to the Bush administration in his book Rogue Nation.

I'm afraid we can't label PC Roberts as a republican for a while now. He started his reverse Christopher Hitchens mutation long ago...more kind of Epiphany, when you are repubs and lucky enough to wake up.

Bush Co will easily discredit his criticism in one phrase...Flip-Flopper!
This country doesn't like critical thinkers.
They like drunken morons with monkey smirks.

Well, they are the pigs from Animal Farm! At least a few people are coming to their senses. They must be the Republibrats of old who are fiscal conservatives, not religious freaks.

Paul Craig Roberts is an amazing thinker. Check out Counter Punch and scan his previous posts---great stuff. Thank god he's in Berkeley to off set that fascist Yoo, who's been given a professorship at Bolt Hall.

There are a couple Republicans who are beginning to snap out of it. I have one overtly Republican friend. After I emailed him something Bush said, he wrote back: "Please tell me it's 2008 already and that I voted for Kerry!" I saved the email - it's the stuff of blackmail.

Great post, blogging it. Wanted to let you know that I had assumed that this photo was actually of the Paul Craig Roberts.
Tracking it back to Ang's Weird Ideas, I found an update. The man pictured is not Roberts, and may not even be a Republican.
You didn't say it was Roberts, but that was the impression. Too bad, it's a great photo.
