**Press Release**

Press_release

In my quest to chart new horizons in the blogosphere and expand the boundaries of this website I have decided to transform this blog into a group effort. As from this day forward AGITPROP is now a group blog.

I would personally like to welcome Blogenfreude as our first new contributor to AGITPROP. Please give him a warm welcome. He resides in New York. His East Coast perspective will be a nice compliment to my West Coast views.

Okay. That's it for introductions. I'll leave the rest to him.

23rd Post Meme

I picked this blog meme up from Shakespeare's Sister.

The title of the 23rd post here at Agitprop was The Harvard School of Government Sanctions Torture and it was authored by yours truly. Here's the fifth sentence:

In their November 2004 publication titled Preserving Security and Democratic Freedoms in the War on Terrorism--Final Report of the Long-Term Legal Strategy Project, Harvard professors Philip Heymann and Juliette N. Kayyem discuss the legality of torture and other coercive methods employed in the War on Terror.

Instructions:

  1. Go into your archive.
  2. Find your 23rd post (or closest to).
  3. Find the fifth sentence (or closest to).
  4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.

It's interesting when you go back in your archives. Give it a try.

Delurking Day

Thanks to Lauren, I've learned that today is Delurking Day! I know it's a bit late to begin celebrating, but I figure, what the hell. Creek Running North explains:

Who are these readers? What are their lives like? Do they like my writing, or do they show up regularly to see what new horrors I've unleashed on the world? Do they think I'm a bad person because of my kitchen? Are they here for the politics, the poetry, or the pictures of Zeke? If you're one of those as-yet-unanounced regular readers, of course, you don't have to answer these questions. I'm just glad you're there.

Maybe you readers prefer pictures of Cairo to my daily bloviations on the state of Bushworld. Or maybe you visit just to see my half-assed attempts at photo-shopping?

Please delurk yourself. You will be rewarded for your valor.

The One Year Anniversary of Agitprop

I almost forgot. I wrote my first post at Agitprop one year ago today! My first post is Bechtel: The Thirsty Developer. The original post is located here at Agitprop version 1.0 which I started on Blogger. I upgraded to Agitprop version 2.0 when I moved to Typepad in March 2005.

I think I've improved somewhat over the past year. I've definitely learned a thing or two about photoshop, although I have much more to learn if I truly want to aspire to the greatness of the photoshop master.

The Latest In Blog Advertising

Xena1Remember the furor that raged in the left blogosphere regarding the Daily Kos Pie Fight ad a couple months ago? I myself found that debate to be rather pointless and distracting from the real issues at hand.

Well, there's another BlogAd that might arouse similar controversy. I spotted this Xena ad (to the left) on a blog recently. At first glance I thought it was some sexy ad for bath products until I noticed the Xena DVD box right below the soaped-up bathing women. Back in 1990's, wasn't Xena's cult following driven by the unspoken fact that she was secretly a lesbian? Maybe that's why so many young and horny teenage boys watched the show. I myself never caught on to the Warrior Princess fever like some of my fellow males did.

Hey Grandpa, Get Out Yer Bifocals

In response to some comments and emails over the past few weeks, I have decided to enlarge the font size I am using for quoted text. I never noticed a problem before since my browser's font size is always set to medium. However, those of you whose browser font size is set to small would have needed a magnifying glass to read the quoted text. Therefore, in attempt to accommodate the wishes of my dear readers I have made this alteration.

I made the change to this post so you can see how it looks going forward. As for the archives, the quoted text size will stay the same. I don't have the time to re-do the font size on 400 posts.

Let me know how it looks, ok?

AGITPROP IN 3D!

As you may have noticed, I have been changing things around on the page for the past few days. I have a new page header. I also added a comment policy (thank you Vaughn) and a photo of yours truly on the About Page. There might be a few more enhancements in the near future so stay tuned.

Operation Yellow Elephant

Oyeanimated468x60

General J.C. Christian has graciously invited me to join Operation Yellow Elephant (OYE). I have accepted the invitation whole-heartedly and look forward to future patriotic missions.

My latest post at OYE is a follow-up on The Presidential iPod Commission. In April I said that I would email President Bush my song recommendations for his iPod. Well, I never did. That's because (1) it is almost impossible to reach the president via email and (2) I don't want Rove's henchmen busting down my door because I told Bush to snort cocaine off Condi's ass.

Nonetheless, I have decided to extend membership in this commission to both the Young Republicans and College Republicans. President Bush isn't the only conservative in need of good tunes. There are thousands of young conservatives in the 101st Fighting Keyboarders who are in dire need of rockin' battle hymns. Please send your musical suggestions to these fine yellow elephants who have chosen to bash liberals instead of enlisting to fight in their president's war.

How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Porn?

Ah, the wonders of Google . . .

I've been getting a lot of hits lately from people who are searching for porn on Google. I checked my stats and this post keeps coming up on Google searches for "porn", "lesbian" and "erotica". These web-surfing porn-seekers must be surprised when they find out that Agitprop's porn is actually about Lynne Cheney.

I don't know about you, but that would definitely turn me off.

Typepad Woes, I Smell Conspiracy

The Yellow Elephant

Dear Readers,

Since Typepad's mass maintenance/upgrade on Friday I have been experiencing several problems. My fonts, spacing and hard returns have been corrupted. For some reason I am unable to post in different size fonts. Also, it appears as if all the hard returns have shrunk for all of my posts. I have opened a help ticket for these issues.

Moreover, Typepad is so slow that it takes about five minutes just to open the post page. Posting comments also takes a minute or two and usually posts the same comment twice. I have come to the belief that these technological problems have been orchestrated by a highly organized conspiracy of ruthless and moronic pro-Empire lackeys.

Until this technological madness subsides I will probably be posting less often than usual.  Again I apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully Typepad will get their act together soon.

Sincerely,

El Commandante

The Yellow Elephant
