Wear Black on Friday
Carl has this over at Simply Left Behind via Blondesense Liz: supporting the troops now apparently requires that the truly patriotic wear red on Fridays. Carl suggests black, Liz suggests blood red. The former is not a problem for us New Yorkers - we always dress like we're ready to go break in somewhere ...

Chicagoans dig black too, BTW... at least northsiders do. I lived there for 10 years, near Wrigley Field. Lotsa black! I discarded a lot of black when I moved to L.A. (the place inspires color to an insane degree) but I still have my cache of blackwear (it's slenderizing, you know). Maybe I'll put on a black halter and shorts today, since it's 90. Ha ha!!!

I like Carl's idea. So I'm wearing black, spiced up with a little grey. I do live near Babylon by the Bay, after all.

Nope. Can't get spatulas (spatuli?) past the police checkpoints. "Sir, is that a spatula in your pocket..."

I got this e-mail from another soldier I work with. Man it pissed me off. I wrote about it friday nite but didn't realize I saved it as a draft until this morning. I tell ya what, the first thing a soldier cares about when in a combat zone is not prayers.
