In a stunning development, federal and state police have arrested seven would-be terrorists in Miami:
"Law enforcement sources told CNN that the arrests disrupted what may have been the early stages of a domestic terrorist plot to attack the Sears Tower in Chicago, Illinois, the FBI building in Miami, and possibly other targets."
Amazingly, no Middle Eastern nations were invaded to catch these terrorists. And, believe it or not, it appears that the arrests were the result of good old-fashioned police work, not the Terrorist Surveillance Program™:
"Sources told CNN that the arrests culminated a monthslong undercover operation. The suspects believed they were dealing with an al Qaeda operative but the person was actually a government informant, the sources said."
Imagine that ... catching terrorists without invading sovereign nations or violating civil rights! Here at Agitprop, we approve. Way to go FBI and state & local authorities.
UPDATE: were these terrorists just wannabes?

How can this be? We're fighting them over there so we won't have to fight them over here. But damn, here they are.

Strange, after being hammered for manipulating the terror alert system during the last election, now, right between primary and general elections, they find oh, mercy a Terror Cell, right here.
Notice how the targets were not New York where the funding was recently gutted...but, Chicago and Miami...of all the bloody cheek

You must be making this up because our government would never actually find terrorists. Our government's one skill is to screw the innocent, and we're used to it, so now tell us a story with ponies and princesses.

Fear, fear, fear, terror, terror, terror! It just doesn't work anymore. Maybe Bushco should try something new, like governing competently.

Aw, can't we fire off a few Tomahawks so we can feel all manly and stuff?...After all, properly fighting terrorism is a matter of Shock and Awe, not observation and intelligence-gathering...

And here's a shock: these terrorists turn out to be the sort who couldn't successfully terrorize a child's birthday party if they were supplied with needles with which to burst the party balloons. The Gang That Couldn't Terrorize Straight.

p.s.
please sign this petition, even if you're not within reach of Ohio's WCKY, it is good for the whole country if mean jean's district has progressive talk on the radio!

A bunch of militant homeless kids were led by the nose by the FBI posing as Al Quaida! Talk about entrapment. A new crock of shit for the righwingwhackos to spew about ad nauseum, drawing attention away from the fact Iraq is exploding in violence and Ralph Reed got 5 million from Abramoff and etc., etc., etc.

This is a quote from Nazi leader Herman Goering: "Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to do the bidding of the leaders. All you have to do is tell them that they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."
And, I might add, it always pays to scare the people fairly close to election time to be sure they keep the bad guys in office.

Does this mean the American team gets another shot at the World Cup?
I think it's only fair.
