So it looks like Ned Lamont won the Connecticut senate primary by 3-4 percentage points - not staggering, but not bad for a political novice. Holy Joe, of course, missed the point entirely, as he often does:
I am disappointed not just because I lost, but because the old politics of partisan polarization won today. For the sake of our state, our country and my party, I cannot and will not let that result stand.
Joe, snap out of it - this has nothing to do with partisanship - you were beaten by a member of your own party. Are you really this stupid, this destructive? Do you think you're a Republican?
Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) has apparently been deputized to talk Lieberman down off the ledge. That might not be easy - asked this morning if there was anybody who could convince him to drop out, Joe was self-righteous in the extreme:
Respectfully, no. I am committed to this campaign, to a different kind of politics, to bringing the Democratic Party back from Ned Lamont, Maxine Waters to the mainstream, and for doing something for the people of Connecticut. That's what this is all about: which one of us, Lamont or me, can do more for the future of our people here in Connecticut.
Joe, the people of Connecticut told you that their future doesn't include you. Eighteen years back Joe - remember when you promised to serve only 3 terms? Remember, just yesterday, when you said you got what the voters were trying to tell you? Don't you understand that your selfish quest makes the primary process meaningless?
No Joe, you are behaving like a spoiled child whose rattle has been taken from him. You claim to know what's going on, but you'll go back to D.C. and resume servicing the Dear Leader. Voters? Fuck 'em, says Joe. Holy Joe knows what's best for Connecticut, not those damn voters.
Do us all a favor Joe - quit now. At least you can exit with a shred of dignity. If you don't, you'll remain a Republican tool, oblivious and hated. What'll it be Joe?
The General, ever in service to the Glorious Conservative Christian Cultural Revolution, live blogs the Lieberman debacle here and here. And Firedoglake explains that Joe's website crashed because of Joe's cheapness, not because it was hacked.
I want to ring Joe's doorbell and run away.

LIEberman wants to continue to serve the only constituencies that matter to him-the corps who dole out the perks (and for who his wife whores herself) and his beloved Chimperor.
I have a feeling he might get his ass handed to him though.

Joe has been getting it nothing but wrong for years now. His position on running this year as an independent has me thinking he may have been the Manchurian Candidate on the Democratic ticket in 2000. Is it possible? Did Rove plant him as the VP candidate so that Lieberman could sabotage the Democrats?
Oh, the humanity!

Joe needs the Republican Cure

They shoot horses, don't they?
Joe has his big chance now, he can come out of the closet and join the republican party.

Joe still refuses to join the defeatists even though he's been knocked off his horse? This guy is just plain delusional.
Although, he does have a good chance in a three-way race running as an independent. Or the Republican candidate could win in November (like Weicker did in 1970) since Joe & Ned would split the lefty vote...which means Joe should drop out so that Ned can get to the Senate.

Ha - I want to help Tata ring his doorbell and run away.

I sent out two postcards this morning. They simply stated: YOU LOST. NOW RETIRE.
If everyone in the leftie blogocorps did such, he might get the message.

Why do I get the feeling that politics are better now that Joe lost, not worse? Because the people are starting to wake up and realize it's time to take the country back from the corporate war mongers.

Yup, I sent out a postcard, too. "Try to retain a shred of dignity and leave NOW."

Don't forget, Lieberman's wife is a well-paid lobbyist for the pharmaceutical industry. If Lieberman loses his seat, she may lose her entry to power--the Congress--and thus lose her lobbying clout.
Money makes the world go 'round....
I wouldn't believe Holy Joe for a minute.

I'd rather leave a burning bag of opposum shit on his doorstep, THEN ring the bell and run away.

I hope someone will talk some sense into him so he doesn't totally screw it up in November for Connecticut dems. Just goes to show that he didn't have his party's back at all...he gave his backside to W. Rove & Co. obviously. I wonder if it was good for him?

A big fucking crying blubbering baby is what Joe is. It didnt' even take one whole day to start spewing the rethugs LAST talking point which is vote for Dems and you die in a bloody terrist attack.
what a loser. I'm for joining the bell-ringing, poop burning on the doorstep & highttailing it party.
