We haven't caught Osama (you know, the Iraqi Iranian Saudi Arabian guy responsible for 9/11), but is that a failure? Certainly not, says one of the Dear Leader's Ministry of Truth minions:
Q: You know, going back to September 2001, the president said, dead or alive, we're going to get him. Still don't have him. I know you are saying there's successes on the war on terror, and there have been. That's a failure.
A: Well, I'm not sure -- it's a success that hasn't occurred yet. I don't know that I view that as a failure.
Riiiiight. And we're winning the war in Iraq. And tractor production is up 300% for the year. And we have always been at war with Eastasia.
Success = failure.
Hm. Sounds like the plaintive howl of a C student at Yale...

Wouldn't it be funny if we all held pressers and served up our own spokesweasels? Because we all have at least one friend who will say just about anything.

I wouldn't say that I have failed in my attempts to become an all-powerful world-dominating sorcerer. I just haven't succeeded yet.
I like this worldview. Feels cosy.
