Another in our series of letters to the Iraq War architects and cheerleaders
to ask them whether they’ve sent some of the money they’ve made off the
war to help the families of the soldiers and innocent Iraqis they
helped to kill. Today, David Broder.
Dear Mr. Broder:
You’ve been a supporter of the Iraq War since the beginning. As even you will admit, it now looks like the whole thing was a waste of time - Saddam’s Iraq turned out to be a third-rate military power with no WMD and no nuke program.
Unfortunately, the war has cost the lives of thousands of our soldiers and resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis. Sure Saddam was a brutal dictator, but there would have been a lot less death and destruction had we left him in power.
You’ve made some money writing and speaking about the Iraq War. In fact, it was reported this week that you’ve been making some pretty serious coin on the business lecture circuit.
Given all of this, it’s safe to say you were a pretty important cog in the machine that ginned up support for this unnecessary war. So we at the Cynics’ Party blog have a question for you: Have you sent any of the money you’ve made off the Iraq War to help the families of the soldiers and innocent Iraqis you helped George W. Bush kill? Please let us know: photonyc@gmail.com.
Wonder if he’ll write back?
If these people had consciences, they all would have apologized profusely to each and every American they could reach. Because they haven't, I don't expect them to respond to you. But it's a nice thought that the people who have extolled the virtues of personal responsibility for others suck it up and take some for themselves as well.

Responsibility----now there's a quaint, old fashion idea! -----second only to accountability----then justice----getting sleepy, better go into denial now.
