Some things are so well done that you can’t improve on them - so it is with my pal BlueGal’s post at Crooks and Liars:
Bob Edwards Radio.com explores Rick Shenkman’s new book, “Just How Stupid Are We?: Facing the Truth About the American Voter“:
–Only 2 in 5 voters can name the three branches of the federal government.
–Only 1 in 7 can find Iraq on a map.
–Only 1 in 5 know that there are 100 federal senators.
And the most chilling…
–Nearly half (49%) of Americans think the President has the authority to suspend the Constitution.
And just so you have even more trouble sleeping, remember that George Carlin informed us that 70% of Americans believe in angels.
What's that phrase again?
Oh yeah...
The nation gets the president it deserves.

We live in a demon-haunted world, the most religious (and therefore, gothic) of the industrialized nations. That takes up a lot of brainspace. Go to the bookstore for the plethora of horse-whisperer/rainbow child pap.
Americans have (had) brawn, not brains.

Lisa, I'd rather have closetspace.
