This is bad for a couple reasons. First, the johns rarely get prosecuted. If any case was going to be an exception, this should have been it. Second, we won’t have the delightfully vapid Ashley Alexandra Dupré to kick around anymore.
Damn.
And no, I don’t think prostitution should be illegal (as George Carlin said - “Selling is legal, fucking is legal - why isn’t selling fucking legal!?”). I just think Spitzer should pay a price for his staggering hypocrisy given that it was illegal when he did it.
Meh.
On the other hand, what's private should be private and we'd be hypocritical to want to see him roasted for this.

@actor212 - good point. Ordinarily I could care less who fucks whom. On the other hand, he might not have let someone similarly situated off were he prosecuting. It's the Larry Craig syndrome. Sad that his accomplishments, and they were many, will be overshadowed.

Yep, we'd hate to see Spitzer's privates roasted!

Altho he fully participated in his own depantsing (both spiritual and literal), I still think it's only fair to note the date of said depantsing and this:

Oh, well, for some reason the link won't go thru.
I'm sure you all know about his editorial in WaPo on 2/14/08, anyhoo.

Freude,
Well, see, that's sort of the horns of the dilemma.
On the one hand, it's a heap of schadenfreude to see him twist in the wind even this long and have the public abuse heaped on him.
On the other, if we didn't want to see it happen to us, the way I look at it, it's probably best to ignore it happened to him. Karma's a bitch.
