What If Coulter's Publisher Had To Pull The Book?

Imagine - what if we 'ineffective' little bloggers could get Coulter's book pulled?  By now, you know that The Rude Pundit and Raw Story have caught Coulter red-handed - much of her "book" is taken from other sources but not attributed - this is known as PLAGIARISM.  And you may remember that Little Brown pulled Kaavya Viswanathan's first (and last) novel after they caught her lifting large portions from two books by Megan F. McCafferty.

Other plagiarizers haven't fared so well either.   RedState's Ben Domenich was pushed resigned from the WaPo after he was caught playing stenographer.  The Weekly Standard has made a cottage industry out of pummeling Doris Kearns Goodwin because she didn't have quite enough footnotes.

I'm sure the 'ol Standard will immediately call for Coulter's book to be pulled.

Well, of course they won't, but we sure can.  Her publisher is:

Why Not the 22nd Amendment in the New Year?

So here we are in 2006 ... what do you suppose is next on the Dear Leader's agenda now that Operation Enduring War™ is firmly in place to assure massive profits for Vice Fuhrer Cheney, Reichsminister Rumsfeld, and their ilk?

Ah, that pesky 22nd Amendment: "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once."

If the Dear Leader could wipe away the 4th Amendment with a stroke of his mighty pen, can the 22nd be far behind? So Agitprop asks: since Cheney will likely be put out to pasture, who's your nightmare running mate for Bush's 2008 presidential bid? He'll need people-boiling advice, so we picked Uzbekistan's President Karimov. Winner gets a fabulous prize!

And yes, we are aware that we failed to announce a winner in our Saddamist-Rejectionist contest, but we were preoccupied with our as yet unsuccessful campaign to make O'Reilly's list of smear sites. Check back tomorrow for the winner.

Agitprop Asks

Since we're being watched, and the Dear Leader said he intends to keep watching, we might as well just fess up and get it over with. So Agitprop asks ... what are you, and why? Best answer wins a left-leaning t-shirt. Are you:

Here at Agitprop, depending on the day and the phase of the moon, we mostly find ourselves part Saddamist, part Defeatist. We miss that wacky Saddam, but only because he's keeping us from finding real terrorists. However, it's also true that the terrorists are now mostly in Iraq, and that should make them easier to find. We are part Defeatist because, well, the Dear Leader has decided to stay the course. He wants victory!

Question of the Day

At Shakespeare's Sister, there is often a Question of the Day. At Agitprop, you'll be lucky if you get a Question of the Week. Which is why we entitle this new venture "Agitprop Asks."

A sick little game it was, but we played it in law school. Remember the movie ALIVE!? Plane crash in the Andes, and you had to eat your seatmate to survive. But take it step further ...

What singer, or band (alive please) would you put on that plane? And would they eat, or be eaten? These must be, of course, singers who have done serious damage to the culture. Our nominee is Billy Joel. We could go on and on, but Joe Queenan does it so much better (we paraphrase): "Other artists can suck on maybe 4 or 5 tracks on an album, but Billy Joel can do all 9, 10, or 11." Or to give you another example of an "artist" who has done massive cultural damage yet not been held responsible, Michael Bolton. And sure, Yanni is obvious, and the Andre Rieus of the world are easy pickings. Cher? In a category by herself. Or Supertramp.

But you be the judge. Think it through. Take off, and take revenge. What's the worst you've heard? And would they eat or be eaten?
