Confused Old Man™ Won’t Torture You If You Can Prove Citizenship

Apparently the Psychogeezer doesn’t plan to torture you if you’re an American citizen, so best have your passport on you should he win in the fall.

Today, during the question- and-answer period of Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) address to the Associated Press, a journalist asked McCain about torturing terrorism detainees, saying “Don’t we stand for something better?” McCain seemed to get confused, talking instead about his opposition to the torture of Americans:

I’ve made it very clear, I’ve made it very clear in my statements and in my support of the Detainee Treatment Act, the Geneva Conventions, etc., that there may be some additional techniques to be used, but none of those would violate the Geneva Conventions, the Detainee Treatment Act…And we cannot ever, in my view, torture any American, that includes waterboarding.

No Love for Mittens

Paul Weyrich is a shitstain on the boxer shorts of the nation.  He’s a co-founder of the Moral Majority, the Free Congress Foundation, and the Heritage Foundation as well as various other right-wing loony bins. That means he’s largely responsible for all the stupid shit Republicans have done since 1980 - the wars, the hundreds of thousands of dead, the deficits, the spending, the destruction of our military, the racism, the sexism, the Congressional delegations that hate us, the federal judiciary that wipes its collective ass with the constitution, Tom DeLay, the environmental destruction, global warming, the shitty health care, the crooked crony appointees, the funding and promotion of religion by the government, Newt Gingrich - all of it. In any other country, Weyrich would have been set adrift on an ice floe or shot at sunrise for causing all that death and destruction. But this is America, and it’s a sure bet that our dear-departed Mittens will be saddened to learn he’s lost the support of his favorite sociopath:

Last November, Moral Majority co-founder Paul Weyrich “made a splash” when he endorsed former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney for president. “With a clear conservative vision to move America forward, he will strengthen our economy, our military and our families,” said Weyrich of Romney. The LA Times reports that in a new letter, however, Weyrich joins other social conservatives and urges McCain to reject Romney as vice president.

Who will Wonkette kick around now?

Acknowledging that it would be impossible for him to win the White House, Ron Paul encouraged supporters to continue the “revolution” they started as he signaled the end to his presidential campaign.

The Texas Republican congressman addressed supporters in a 7 1/2-minute video on his campaign Web site. Thursday night.

The video did not explicitly say Paul was dropping from the presidential race, although he acknowledged it is mathematically impossible for the long-shot candidate to overtake John McCain’s delegate lead.

“Though victory in the conventional political sense is not available in the presidential race, many victories have been achieved due to your hard work and enthusiasm,” Paul said, thanking his supporters. “We must remember elections are short term efforts, revolutions are long-term projects.”

Candidate With Fewer Votes, Delegates, Offers VP Spot to Barry Hussein

The Inevitable Democratic Nominee:

Hillary Rodham Clinton, fresh off a campaign saving comeback, hinted Wednesday at the possibility of sharing the Democratic presidential ticket with Barack Obama - with her at the top. Obama played down his losses, stressing that he still holds the lead in number of delegates, and referred to talk of a joint ticket as “premature.”

Of course, if you throw in the Minnesota Michigan and Florida voters, Hillary is ahead, barely.  Listening to the Brian Lehrer show now, and he’s putting Obama and Clinton supporters on together.  It sounds like fucking Jerry Springer.  All hail Preznit McCain.

Confused Old ManTM Heads to DC to Hump Dear Leader’s Leg

The Confused Old Man^TM is headed to Washington DC today to receive the blessing of the Worst President Ever:

When McCain arrives at the White House’s North Portico at 9 a.m. (PST) today to officially receive Bush’s blessing as the party’s choice to replace him, a pool of photographers will be on hand. And no doubt each will be hoping for a repeat of that ‘04 show of affection.

It probably won’t happen; indeed, in light of Bush’s approval ratings, McCain likely will make sure it doesn’t. Still, their get-together will offer a reminder of the strange twists … the political road can take.

I’m sure that will work out very well for him.

And remember - Ron Paul is still in it to win it.

Confused Old ManTM Will Kill More Brown People, May Raise Your Taxes

If elected, we know that John McCain will continue killing brown people.  He will almost certainly declare that we are a Christian nation.  Without thinking, the Confused Old Man^TM had also promised never to raise taxes never ever not even if you waterboarded him - the triump of hope over arithmetic.  But now he's backpedaling:

The Wall Street Journal reports today that McCain is now distancing himself from the pledge not to raise taxes, saying his statement was not a firm commitment:

Q: On ABC's "This Week" on Feb. 17, in response to a question, "Are you a ‘read my lips' candidate, no new taxes?" you replied, "No new taxes." Did you mean that literally?

McCAIN: I'm not making a "read my lips" statement in that I will not raise taxes. But I'm not saying I can envision a scenario where I would, OK? But I'm not making it a centerpiece in my campaign.

In the WSJ interview, McCain appeared clueless about his own Social Security plan. In 2000, he supported President Bush's efforts to divert part of Social Security payroll taxes to fund private accounts. Asked about his current position, McCain said, "I'm totally in favor of personal savings accounts."

Why is McCain saying anything at all about Social Security when we all know he'll spend it all on those new wars he promised?

Confused Old Man Concedes to Barry Hussein

Warmonger and noted lobbyist fucker Senator John McCain (R-AZ) conceded the fall election yesterday to turban-wearing Barry Hussein Obama:

John McCain said Monday that to win the White House he must convince a war-weary country that U.S. policy in Iraq is succeeding. If he can’t, “then I lose. I lose,” the Republican said.

He quickly backed off that remark.

Poor John.  To win he and his bloodthirsty geriatric supporters have to sell us the Iraq war (again), and that’s just not going to happen.  Most of the American people are sick and tired of the Dear Leader’s fake war.  Later, McCain was desperate enough to say that the war “will be over soon.”  John, you confused old fart, don’t you understand that the Boy King and the Dark Lord are planning to stay there forever?  They’re going to fake a terrorist attack (with luck it’ll be Houston) just before the election, declare martial law, and then … four more wars!

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that “Josh Romney, one of former Gov. Mitt Romney’s five sons, says it’s ‘possible’ his father may rejoin the race for the White House.” Earlier this month, Romney “suspended” his campaign and endorsed Sen. John McCain’s (R-AZ) bid a week later. But Romney has yet to comment on the recent New York Times article on McCain’s close ties to lobbyists and “still retains control of the nearly 300 delegates he’s already won.”

Barry Hussein Obama, the Islamunofascist candidate for the Democrat nomination for the presidency of these here Yew-nited States (even the red ones) has won 10 primaries in a row (11 if you count that expatriot beauty contest).  Hillary has to do something.  Apparently, that something is to act completely fucking unhinged:

“Shame on you, Barack Obama,” Clinton said angrily when talking to reporters after a rally in a technical college gym here. “It is time you ran a campaign consistent with your messages in public. That’s what I expect from you,” she said, calling on Obama to repudiate and stop the mailings, which she waved demonstratively.

“Meet me in Ohio. Let’s have a debate about your tactics,” she said, calling the mailings “tactics that are right out of Karl Rove’s playbook.”

Hillary Hillary Hillary … this is not a good look for you.  Look - I like you - I even voted for you in the NY primary because Rob Reiner told me to. But this foot stomping frothing-at-the-mouth shit is not going to work. What will? I haven’t a clue, but you’ve got to get a grip.

It’s so cute.  We think all these primaries mean something.  When I voted at the 73rd Street Senior Center on Tuesday, I felt a part of something.  You DC area cynics might also think you can make a difference by voting in the Potomac Primaries on February 12th.

Forget it.  Do you think the Unitary Executive^TM and the Dark Lord have been piling up all that power so they can hand it over to Barry Hussein or Hitlery in January 2009?  Think again:
